Job Description:
Mandatory Technical / Functional Skills
- Resource with 8+ years of experience in Core Mainframe technologies.
- Expert in Cobol, Easytrieve, JCL, CICS & VSAM Files.
- Experience with DFSORT, SYNCSORT, ICETOOL and other utilities.
- Experience with BMC Control-M scheduling tool.
- Good experience with Communication protocols like SFTP and Connect: Direct.
- Experience with File-Aid, Abend-Aid, Expeditor
- Strong experience in Mainframe development projects and experience in managing at least one big development project on Mainframe.
- Experience requirement gathering, testing Mainframe jobs, creating test plans and work with Business for UAT.
- Experience in implementation of projects.
- Experience in writing scripts using REXX, Easytrieve, SORT for analysis, testing purposes.
- Very strong analytical skills.
- Good communication skills to work with various teams (infra, QA, business)
Roles and responsibility
- Perform analysis on legacy system to understand the As-Is architecture, integration layers.
- Analyze and gather inventory of components to remediate and estimate the effort.
- Architecting, developing, and modernizing customer applications/systems to be cloud optimized,
- Work with customer to finalize the High Level and low-level design for remediation scope.
- Understand the functionality of existing system and propose the solution for remediation.
- Collaborate with Business/other teams for UAT and Integration.
- Plan and implement the change in phases.
- Lead the team to deliver the project.
Desirable Technical / Functional Skills
- Experience in modernizing the legacy mainframe applications to cloud native technologies.
- Good to have Google cloud platform knowledge.
- Understanding of Retail Domain.
- Good to have Informatica, UNIX, SQL, and Database knowledge.
- Exposure to Micro Focus Emulator.
