Responsibilities : Philips Openings Recruitment
Key Areas of Responsibilities:
- Is responsible to develop/lead the customized OS (Win XP/7/10 embedded) releases.
- Create build operating systems for multiple products using tools like MDT.
- Ensure ease of OS development and maintenance. Streamline OS creation activities and automate the steps involved.
- Track, Analyze & integrate regular security patches in the operating system
- Implement the OS hardening as per the requirements.
- Analyze and incorporate functional and non-functional requirements.
- Ability to perform POC for any new changes and provide the required feedback.
- Identify and resolve technical risks through quick prototypes.
- Review and ensure quality of deliverable from self & team.
- Mentor junior team members for quality deliverable.
- Support Project manager with effort estimation.
- Responsible to continuously improve the quality of software deliverable.
- Investigate critical defects & provide solutions, perform root cause analysis for continuous improvements.
- Support in the investigation and fixing the defects on the windows based applications.
- Troubleshooting Knowledge of windows OS – Windows XP/7/10
- Ensures that there is proper documentation for the developed SW
- Performs work in line with the SW engineering processes that have been agreed in the department
- Understands and communicates consequences of his/her design on higher level designs
- Maintains Windows OS by solving problems and implementing changes
- Contributes to the Work Breakdown Structure/ the planning process of his/her area
- Keeps abreast of technical developments in through study of literature and technical contacts
Experience & Competency Skills:
- Bachelor degree in software/computer engineering or other relevant discipline (with SW training)
- Extensive knowledge & experience in working with windows internals.
- 4-9 years of experience preparing and verifying customized Windows operating systems-xp/7/10
- Strong Knowledge of Windows/Linux internals and BIOS/UEFI configurations
- Strong experience in any of the scripting languages like MS Build, PowerShell, VB Script, Python
- Knowledge on OS security, like STIG, Nessus guidelines & policies.
- Experienced in vulnerability assessment and patch management of windows environment
- Experience in tools like Windows AIK, MDT, Norton Ghost, Win PE.
- Experience in working with Enterprise tools like UML, TFS, GIT, Clear case, Clear Quest,
- Good communication and documentation skills
- Good experience in integrating, configuring, optimizing 3rd party software & device drivers as per functional & non-functional requirements
- Proven skills of delivering quality deliverables in projects worked before.
- Proven skills of innovation/improvements in product features, process steps for operational efficiency.
