Analyzes, develops, designs, and maintains test tools to validate product and system performance. Performs manual or automation testing and analyzes the results using auto-generated reports. Works with multi-disciplinary engineering teams to resolve issues detected through testing.
Responsibilities
Designs, develops, and tests on a variety of testing assignments that constitute a portion of a larger project.
Develops and tests documentation which describes the specific test functionality.
Test automation feasibility analysis, creating test plan including effort & timeline estimation, test environment creation.
Creating test data or creating strategy how to utilise existing data from database.
Implementing the framework, identifying locators and creating object repository.
Creating automation test cases / suites for business modules with appropriate functional & non-functional validations.
Creating execution packages to run tests for multiple business modules with auto-generated test result reports.
Ensures automation of build creation with continuous integration to source code management system as required
Participates and provides some input in project code reviews.
Runs system tests designed by more experienced engineers.
Reviews test results and perform root cause analyses to identify problems.
Provides recommendations and implements solutions to complex issues. Ensures compliance with quality process and standards.
Makes changes to or upgrades existing systems. Enhances and improves existing technologies to apply to new solutions.
Makes and implements recommendations to immediate team to enhance performance and improve Productivity.
Seeks out new tools to analyze and solve problems.
Exercises judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
Receives general instructions on routine work, new projects or assignments.
Builds productive working relationships internally and externally.
Primary intra-organizational with occasional inter-organizational and external customer contacts on routine matters.
May routinely interact with team members in a geographically diverse global development team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an appropriate engineering discipline required.
Good understanding of software testing fundamentals/concepts.
Must have 2+ years of experience working in software quality assurance.
Must have 2+ years of experience working in web-based application automation using any tool.
Ability to understand business needs, translate them into test cases, and test scenarios with great communication and interpersonal skills.
Experience in creating good automation framework and enhancing the same to deliver the desired results based on business need.
Hands on experience in writing and maintaining automation test scripts using any tool
Good knowledge of test case prioritization, designing test data, debugging and running the tests.
Good understanding of managing test suites and test documentations.
Preferred Requirements:
Hands-on experience in Selenium/Katalon/Tosca, Maven, Appium.
Well versed with CI/CD pipeline (Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment).
Good exposure in BDD / TDD framework.
Prior experience in an enterprise software product development organization.
Coming up with exact solutions for problems related to object identity and error handling.
Identify, recommend changes to established practices.
Strong Structured Query Language (SQL) fundamentals.
