Description:
You will be a key member of the Acacia Software team at Cisco responsible for regression test software development for Cisco’s Coherent optical products. You will interface with Hardware, ASIC, Optical, and DSP teams in the engineering organization to design the system test software, develop and extend the regression test infrastructure and contribute to firmware testing.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Enhance and support Web/Python™ based automated regression test infrastructure
- Manage test environments for multiple projects simultaneously
- Tracking and documenting problems found for each release
- Support and/or develop regression test suites for each release
- Develop short term smoke tests, stress tests, overnight full regression tests, and long-term stability tests
- Develop/maintain test records database to demonstrate test result trend analysis
- Automate manual procedures; modify existing tests as needed
- Work with FW and SQA teams to adapt tests into SW regression test suite
- Maintain scalable regression test library so it may be used by cross-functional developers and across multiple projects
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Minimum Qualifications:
- 1-4 years of experience in a Software/Firmware test role (SW Regression, SQA, or Manufacturing test)
- Extensive knowledge of Python™ and Perl
- Experience with Perforce, GIT or similar version control system
- Experience assembling test results into a database-like storage and building dashboards to show test results, track metrics (e.g. system performance) across several builds.
Highly Desired Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to find defects in software, i.e., test to fail not test to pass
- Experience in the optical communication industry is a big plus
- Experience controlling/monitoring
